Chocolate Grinch Shake


Get festive this season with a shake that is sure to please!

This layered chocolate grinch shake is packed with protein, fibre, and antioxidants. The vibrant green comes from the chlorophyll and an anti-inflammatory pigment called phycocyanin from SpiraVeg freeze dried Spirulina. It's tasteless, GMO-free and stirs into literally anything upping the nutritional quality of foods!

Spirulina has been around for millions of years and provides a nutrient-dense source of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and protein. Antioxidants are substances that protect your cells against free radicals, helping to prevent conditions such as heart disease and cancer. Spirulina provides a rich source of beta-carotene, a provitamin A, which helps support immune function, eyesight, skin & bone health. It is also a source of B12 and iron to help with red blood cell production and keep our energy levels up. Spirulina also provides a plant-based source of protein to keep up fueled and help build and repair body tissues.

Chocolate Grinch Shake 

Makes 2 shakes 

Ingredients:

1 packet of SpiraVeg Freeze Dried Spirulina

2 dates, pitted

2 frozen bananas

½ cup Greek vanilla yogurt 

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 tbsp cocoa powder

2 tbsp almond butter

1 cup milk or milk alternative

Instructions 

  1. Blend 1 packet of SpiraVeg freeze dried spirulina with 1 frozen banana and 1/2 cup of milk (or alternative), set aside 
  2. Blend all other ingredients together in a high power blender or bullet. Layer the chocolate on the bottom and the SpiraVeg spirulina mixture on the top. 
  3. Enjoy
